THE INAUGURATION AND OPENING CEREMONY OF LG HAIPHONG CAMPUS IN TRANG DUE INDUSTRIAL PARK

LG Electronics, Inc. (LG) was founded in 1958 under the name of Gold Star. Currently, LG is one of the leading manufacturer of flat-screen TVs, audio and video products, mobile phones, air-conditioners and washing machines.

The project "LG Electronics Vietnam Haiphong" of the investor LG ELECTRONICS INC (Korea) in Trang Due Industrial Park, An Duong district, Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone was issued Investment Certificate by Haiphong Economic Zone on September 06th, 2013 in association with the establishment of LG Electronics Vietnam Haiphong Co., Ltd. The project "LG Electronics Vietnam Haiphong" is conducted with the goals: Manufacture and assembly of electronic and hi-tech electronic devices such as electronic measuring equipment, digital broadcast equipment for automotives, electronic components for automotives, energy saving household appliances and its parts (components); Manufacture and assembly of color televisions, smart televisions, other electronic and electrical appliances and its parts (components); Manufacture and assembly of air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and its parts (components); Manufacture of electronic products and consumer electronics and its parts (components), also including smart mobile phones manufactured by LGE and LGE subsidiaries (one of common business activities of LGE). Besides activities of manufacturing and assembling, LGE also registered to provide after-sales services, installation services, maintenance, repair and warranty for all products of LGE (in Vietnam and other countries) and real estate business, including investment, construction of workshops, facilities and offices for lease. On a total estimated land use area of 402,600 m2, the capacities for a stable manufacturing year of the project are: electronic measuring equipment, digital broadcast equipment for automotives, electronic components for automotives: 16.812 million units; color TV and Smart TV: 534,000 units/ year; air conditioners: 550,000 units/ year; vacuum cleaners: 5,376,000 units/ year; washing machines: 1,560,000 units/ year; smart mobile phones: 600,000 units/ year; electronic products and other consumer electronics and parts (components) of these products manufactured by LGE and LGE subsidiaries which are common business activities of LGE will be manufactured based on the direct investment plan during the project implementation; the total estimated workshop area for lease is 33,300 m2. The total investment capital of the project is USD 1.5 billion. This is the largest FDI project in Haiphong city up to now.
